                              IN LONE WORKING

 

AIMS:

·         To understand the legislation that applies to personal safety at work

·         Demonstrate an awareness of personal safety at work and to appreciate why it is so important

·         Assess the risks with lone working

 

OBJECTIVES:

            Following completion of this course delegates will:

 

ü      Be aware of the dept procedures relating to lone working and reporting incidents and post incident support

ü      Be aware of the dept procedures of personal responsibilities in lone working situations 

ü      Understand the definition of “lone workers”

ü      Understand the problem of violence and lone working

ü      Be aware of strategies for assessing and reducing risk

ü      Understand how to deal with aggression

ü      Be aware of the dangers arising from lack of communication with a fixed base

ü      Understand the difficulties in applying risk assessment strategies

ü      Appreciate how to deal with aggressive customers when alone

ü      Appreciate how to deal with people affected by drugs and alcohol

ü      Understand how the psychology of the lone worker sometimes lead to management challenges and the under reporting of incidents/attacks

ü      Understand the preventative measures that can be undertaken to reduce the risk

Awareness of the dept Lone Working Policy if applicable

Mandatory Health and Safety Responsibilities of anyone involved in Lone Working

            Understanding the dangers of lone working and preventative measures

            Awareness of the Reporting Procedures and Post Incident support.
