CIEH QUALIFICATION FOR 2006
CIEH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in Health and Social Care
The CIEH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in Health and Social Care will
provide candidates with good understanding and knowledge of health and
safety in the health and social care sector.
The qualification provides an introduction to health and safety
and focuses on eight key areas, including health and safety law, welfare
and hygiene hazards. Study aids
will focus on enabling candidates to understand the health and safety
requirements placed on health and social care employers and employees,
hazards and risks and the main causes of harm to patients/clients and
employees, the importance of health and safety and following safe systems
of work, procedures and rules, the general hazards and controls in respect
to both safety and occupational health risks, and how their own actions
can reduce risks to health and safety.

care homes in the public and private sector.
